A Range of Counselling Services
For A Whole Variety Of Benefits
There are many reasons why someone may benefit from some counselling, ranging from depression, anxiety or grief to traumatic experiences such as abuse. Some clients need a bit of space for themselves away of their busy families and work, while others need to work through family issues, difficult experiences and mental health issues.
Counselling covers all age groups. Mental health issues do not worry about your age, they can surface at any time during your life, whether you are at school, work or retirement.
Recently a report suggested that 300,000 people a year leave their jobs due to mental ill health, costing the economy £99 billion each year. Schools are seeing an explosion in children being excluded due to bad behaviour, often attributed to the effects of mental ill health.
Our counselling provides benefits for all types of mental ill health, whatever the core reason.
1 to 1 or Group Sessions
Whatever the reason our experienced BACP Registered Counsellor can offer you 1-1 or group sessions to help you deal with the issues that are affecting your life. Animal, Wildlife and Nature activities are at the heart of everything we do at ADO Therapy, and these focus based exercises and tasks are used in the counselling where appropriate. We also offer more conventional counselling services as well depending on individual requirements. We have an inclusive range of services from nature based mindfulness exercises to working with a therapy dog or out in the relaxing surroundings of our Healthcare and Education Centre at our Poets Corner site, a 6.4 acre woodland setting in Welling, Kent..
Learn How To Cope With Counselling Skills
Our Counselling Services are not only to the benefit of those in need of direct counselling, but to those that need to learn counselling techniques and to professionals who may refer or partner with us to supplement other therapeutic services. So these can be beneficial to individuals, groups, parents and professionals. We recognise the importance of staff as well as service users requiring counselling techniques and can provide workshops to hone your skills in dealing with a variety of issues..
We run 6 weekly Counselling Sessions with the option to re-book another 6 sessions there after. Occasionally we may recommed 12 sessions for some individual cases. Our current programmes include:
♦ Mindfulness - Learn techniques to help you focus on the present, relax and enjoy life more
♦ Relaxation Therapy (RT) - Attain a state of increased calmness - help reduce levels of pain, anxiety, stress or anger
♦ Managing Stress (Coping Skills) - Learn Coping Skills and techniques to help manage on-going stress
♦ Managing Depression - Understand and learn ways to help your depression by mastering Coping Skills and Relaxation Techniques
♦ Managing Anxiety - Understand your anxiety and start to manage it by employing coping and relaxation echniques specific to this condition
Whatever your reason for counselling, we can build a programme exactly to your requirements.
Our Workshops are designed for Staff and Service Users, Parents and Children-Young People and Groups or Individuals. We have a great range of Therapeutic Workshops that fit neatly under the ADO Training Centre umbrella, but because of their nature are led by our BACP counsellor with 15 years of experience running educational and therapeutic training workshops. Our workshops are presented and pitched according to the customers. The emphasis being whether the customer is attending for therapeutic reasons or whether they are there to learn techniques to manage others in need of therapeutic care.
As many of our workshops include working parents and professionals, our workshops generally run from early evening time, so that you can attend without disrupting your daily schedule.
