Welcome to our May Newsletter.
Eye spy something new in the garden! As most of you know we have the great addition of a Crow’s Nest in the Sycamore tree by basecamp! It has already proven very popular with the Mini Explorers (and staff!).We hope you have enjoyed the short May half-term and we look forward to our final run before the Summer Holidays begin.
You will have no doubt seen some new faces within the Preschool Core Team. We have recently welcomed Ebony in to the preschool as an Outdoor Educator and our new SENCo. This month, we welcomed Cath, who is our Outdoor Instructor and Holiday Club Manager..Molly May, has also now been promoted to our Animal Science Educator and After School Club Manager and is working full time including our holiday clubs. We are very excited to now have such a wonderful team with senior experience and outdoor education qualifications! Don’t forget, you can see the information for our staffing on our website HERE>.
These are definitely ones to add to your diary!

To confrim the dates for the next term as follows; This will be an eight week term, running from Monday 3rd June to Friday 26th July.
Our Summer Childcare Holiday Club will be running for four weeks from Monday 29th July to Friday 23rd August. The information will be up a few weeks after the May club has ended. With our newly recruited staff and their qualifications and further investment into activity equipment, we have some exciting plans for this years' Summer Club sites and all will be revealed very soon. Its going to be bigger and better than ever before and a great opportunity for some first class childcare and activities for your Mini and Young Explorer children this summer. We would welcome your support to spread the word that our holiday club activities are extending as we want to encourage higher attendance from our older Young Explorer club groups between 5 and 8 years old in addition to our Mini Explorer groups to support the preschool site investments we are making.
We give notice that as part of our annual review on private childcare fees for the Preschool, that from the new school year in September 2019, our private fees will need to increase. There are many factors that dictate our private fees and the recent increase in staff skillsets and expertise alongside extended activities and resources being implemented, we need to increase the fees accordingly to remain sustainable as a small specialist outdoor setting. Please be assured the quality of your childcare and outdoor education opportunities for your children will reflect the increase, as we have many new and exciting plans ahead to extend our curriculum and experiences for the benefit of the children. You can find the new September 2019 Fees HERE>
We have been recently talking to the parks and open spaces team at Bexley to investigate leasing the woodland near to the preschool in an official capacity to use for some of our preschool and holiday club activities. We are also considering setting up to become a 'Friends Of Group' for the woodland located near to the Preschool. This woodland has suffered years of neglect and very basic maintenance and we believe that ADO have the expertise to enhance some elements within the space and restore a few of its hidden gem features. This would greatly benefit the Mini-Explorers, the Holiday Childcare Club and the wider community.
